Shipping!

Hey Guys!

These past few weeks have been EXTREMELY intensive. Wanted to post up the new production and shipping schedule.

PRODUCTION

In terms of production we JUST got in the coins and boxes so that's amazing to check off the list. These were one of the few last minute items we were waiting on to receive. At this point the only items left is the lavender gilding. The thing about gilding is that each foil behaves differently and although we were able to burn through the ruby gilding at lightning speed, the lavender gilding is taking about 3 times longer to gild per deck which was unexpected in our samples. That being said the revised timeline is THIS WEEK for finish which is truly exciting. Afterwards the gilded cards will be loaded into boxes that are folded and glued and then wrapped. This will probably take another week or two depending on when we are able to receive the decks from the gilder but it truly is the last leg of the stretch and I'm super pumped to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Here are a few shots of production over the past few weeks. Suffice to say I have had a LOT of nights in and may have forgotten what outside looks like! lol

I took some extra time to sort all the decks. I'm hoping I packed them in a way where the fulfillment team will be able to match numbered pairs for the black labels. (Crossing fingers!)

Really pumped to how well the engraving turned out. I think it makes each coin personable and unique :)

SHIPPING

Because we're almost in the clear now and I recognize it's going to take some time for the fulfillment center to sort things out to begin packaging I'm actually going to ship out EVERYTHING except the gilded decks to the fulfillment center this Tuesday. It should take a few days for them to receive things and begin sorting but it'll give them a head start. This will also give them the opportunity to begin shipping orders that did not involve gilded decks.

DOMESTIC vs. INTERNATIONAL

For people who have pledged with me before know how our fulfillment center works but if you're new I just wanted to give you the quick run down. If you're domestic, your shipment will be sent directly from Texas where I'm sending the items. That is where they pack everything. If you're international what will happen is they will receive your goods in Texas, package all of them, but then once finished send them ALL to their distribution center. There they will sort the packages by country and then send them out to their corresponding flights to you! What this means though is that your package will have been sent out but will take longer for you to receive than domestic shipping.

Want Mini-Updates?

I try to respect your inbox by not going too crazy with updates. However I understand that many of you might be interested in the nitty gritty everyday. I save the main updates for Kickstarter e-mails but if you're interested in the small everyday adventures you can see them through my Instagram where I post most of the shipping stuff on Story. You can also follow me on Facebook for more general post updates.

We're almost through and I'm so excited to get these to you guys!

Cheers!

Lockdown, Awards, Production, & Games!
about 6 years ago – Fri, Apr 27, 2018 at 01:20:33 AM

Hey guys!

There's been a lot of running around on my end and there is STILL so much more to do but I just wanted to shoot you guys out an update as we near the end of the month of where we're at.

SURVEY LOCK DOWN

If you are MOVING you can update your address HERE. You can log in with your Kickstarter e-mail to update your shipping address. Please do this before the surveys get locked down this weekend as I prepare for fulfillment. If you aren't moving you're all set and don't need to do anything.

AWARD WINNING CARDS!

This one is a REALLY exciting one I wanted to share with you earlier but couldn't until things were official. The Apothecary card collection just won GOLD in the 2018 A'Design Awards!

The A'Design Awards Competition entries are evaluated by an international jury panel who devote great care and attention to each entry. The competition celebrates all great design and I'm excited to have received the award but even MORE excited to be able to share it with you guys!

It's been my mission since the beginning to try to make playing cards beyond the categorization of "toy" in people's minds and more into the realm of art and beautiful design. This award is just a small step closer in that journey and I'm thrilled that you guys are part of helping share in the great design movement.

Production

My hands this past month have been EXTREMELY sore from all the signing and pre-folding to get things ready for a timely ship out. Recently I checked in with the producers of the last legs to see where we're at. CoinsForAnything have updated their deadline now to a 5/3 completion date because of the engraving process. The hand gilding process is also taking some more time and won't be finished until sometime next week as well. I suspect they might also be getting a little hand tired too. These are small delays but I'd rather have an awesome quality product any day! The estimated timeline now is sometime later in May. Once the items are delivered the white label decks will be gilded and loaded and then wrapped and we'll ship everything out. Once surveys get locked down I'll be starting to pack everything together to prepare for fulfillment. To get a head start I may send out whatever confirmed quantities are from the survey immediately to Gambler's Warehouse to have them start sorting through things since this fulfillment order is larger than normal and then send the remaining coins and gilded decks once those are ready to deliver.

For Your Next Game Night!

For anyone that's ever loved a cross over episode, what about a cross over project? I've had the absolute pleasure of seeing the Apothecary featured among the King's belongings as intricate tapestries of the CRYPT

Both my cousin and friend are the founders of Road To Infamy and the creators of this super quick, highly addictive game to steal the King's treasures. This project is a BLOW OUT HIT on Kickstarter right now and absolutely cannot be missed. It's super portable, insanely affordable, and an easy game to learn with your friends and family so that you can just JUMP IN to the fun!

That covers everything for now. I'll be out of town this upcoming week but will be back to update you with some beautiful coins and cards in our next update!  Until next time!
